Another Great Quote
the book I'm getting these from is "Parable of the Sower" by Octavia Butler READ IT!!!

Create no images of God.
Accept the images
that God has provided.
They are everywhere,
in everything.
God is Change-
Seed to tree,
tree to forest;
Rain to river,
river to sea;
Grubs o bees,
bees to swarm.
From one, many;
from many, one;
Forever uniting, growing, dissolving-
forever Changing.
The universe
is God's self -portrait.

i love it!!!

So I'm reading this book...
and it's about a hyper-empathic young lady who is strugling with managing her powers as a "sharer" in a not to distant future where anarchy and chaos rule the land. It has really been eye opening as I too am I "sharer" of sorts. I'm what's categorized as a clairsentient empath, meaning that other peoples emotions gravitate to me and I feel them as if I am the other person. With all that said I wanted to post a piece from the book on here, a proverb of sorts, please repsond with your understanding of it, PEACE...

All that you touch
You Change.

All that you Change
Changes you.

The only lasting truth
Is Change.

God
Is Change.

The Dirty Glass Ceiling

there is a bit of a phenomenon going on. well it's not really a phenomenon as what should have been expected. i'm suprised there wasn't a news cast on it. it seems that the glass ceiling has gotten dirty. You know the one that keeps minorities in particular from getting too far ahead in today's business culture. We'll it's been there for years, but with the ever growing work force built of young, educated, talented African born in America and Hispanic people the ceiling is now very visible and very real.

with all of this new work force constantly bumping their heads on this ceiling it's thought that sooner or later it's gonna break, well that not be so. the glass ceiling, i'm afraid is here to stay. the visibility of the ceiling is really wants news worthy. being a young black talented aspiring professional myself, i have seen the ceiling for myself. everyday you enter the work place it's seen. between the boardmeeting where the people that look like me can be counted on one hand to the bulk of the new promotions and positions going to people who look a lot different from me, oh yes it's very visible and dropping by the day. soon i fear, entry level positions will be more than we are qualified for.

to really see it you have to know the lingo. here's my favorite..."If you want to get ahead you need to be with a more 'upwardly mobile' group." WTF... basically that means, stop hanging with the rest of the black folks are get up under some of these folks who are making the decisions. And sadly enough the trend is that those folks look like no one i knew growing up.

well i think i was just venting a bit, but this is a real problem, soon it may be your problem, so fight to get your own now, until then keep your eyes open for dirty glass doors too,:) much love, peace!!

buck in brazil

for as long as I can remember a black man's dream has been a BMW and a light skinned woman with a big ass. the reason for this are long stretching into a past filled with slavery and complicated and mixxed views of what we find BEAUTIFUL. it's time to get past this though, we gotta start now...

the other day i heard that Spelman College (of all places), is hosting a panel on the trend of black men going to brazil to get "buck" with the natives. just the idea of this being a subject to have a meeting about bespeaks it's importance in how were shapping, or being shapped by this society. as my elder was saying a couple minutes ago "we as brothers are obsessed with light skin, long hair and patriarchy, and willing to decieve ourselves and our families to fulfill our music video fantasies.

it really does boggle me that we have not seen for one, at the root how patriarchy is eating away at our very exsistence, let alone the already dying black family. to think that we would spend money that could go to bills at home, feeding the homeless, our kids, family and friends, we decide with clear conscious to take a trip to brazil for the "sex-capades." We gotta stop thinking with out penis' long enough to stand up and except our social responsibility.

life is based on so much more than sex, why is it that our descisions aren't.
